Welcome to the first steps in setting up your new website!!

It’s time to start thinking about what you’d like your site to look like and to sign up for the tools that we’ll need to set up your site.  This page provides you with links to examples of some of the websites I’ve built as well as links to the tools.

Here’s a link to a page where you’ll find a list of some of the Thesis websites I’ve built for clients.  This will give you an idea of different looks that can be achieved using Thesis.

Design work for your website

One of the first things we’ll need to look at, is designing a header image and branding look for your website.

Email me if you’d like me to introduce you to my Designer so you two can start talking about a header design for your site.  And of course if you already have a Designer, I’d be happy to work with him or her and let them know what I need.

Links to Tools needed to set up your website

Here you’ll find my affiliate links to the tools I’ll need to set up your website.  Yes, I do earn commissions if you sign up using these links and the cost is the same as if you were to go directly to the website for each service.  Though I would love you to sign up using my affiliate links, I’m completely happy with you choosing not to do so.

HostGator

Sign up for a HostGator Baby Croc plan – this gives us all the flexibility we need.  Once you’ve signed up for your HostGator account, please forward the email from HostGator to maryna@marynasmuts.com.  I’ll need the link and signup information there to configure your site and install WordPress.

Thesis

If you’d like me to purchase an add-on Client Site Option to my Thesis Developer License, I can do that for you for only $40.  Let me know if you’d like to do that and you can skip the rest of this step and move on to AWeber.  The only benefit to purchasing your own license would be if you like keeping your own copies of software you use.

If you’d prefer to own your own Thesis license, you can sign up below and download a copy of the software for your records.  I’ll use my own copy of Thesis to configure your site, so this signup is to ensure that you have your own valid license to use Thesis.

AWeber

We can wait to sign up for your AWeber account until the rest of your site is almost ready.  That way the $1 free monthly membership will only start then and we’ll delay your monthly $19 billing cycle.

When you’re ready to sign up, you can use the link below.  After you have the account, I’ll need the login details to set up and configure your email list and the signup form that we’ll set up in your sidebar.

eStore

Purchase a copy of eStore Shopping Cart and download the software to your computer as a record of your eStore license.  I have a copy of eStore and will use that to set up your shopping cart.
